Submissions Policy

We work in the areas of fiction and general non-fiction.  Please note that we do not handle children's books, science fiction/fantasy, poetry or scripts.

If you wish to submit material, we like to see the first three chapters and a synopsis of the remainder, together with a short covering letter.  You must enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope; we cannot return your material unless you send return postage (if you are outside the UK, please use international postal orders). We do not accept submissions on disc, by email or fax. Submissions should be typed using double-spacing on one side of the paper only; please remember to number the pages.

We receive between fifty and a hundred submissions every week; we do our best to respond quickly, but please be patient.  You should hear from us within a few weeks; we cannot accept responsibility for lost or damaged material.

Finally, we don't take part in "beauty contests"; we ask, if you are submitting to a number of agents at the same time, that you pass us by.
